  • I was saved as an early teenager but spent most of my life thinking church was a chore that everyone pretended to enjoy. After moving to Johnson City my wife and I searched for a church for several years before we walked into The Journey. I walked out realizing that this was a place I WANTED to come back to every time the doors opened. The congregation really have their focus set on worshiping God and learning how to get closer to Him. And Tom, the Pastor, proved to be not only a wonderful teacher but a great friend. And the music is awesome. There are a lot of good churches in the tri-cities, but The Journey is the church I have been looking for all my life.

  • My family was a twice a year type church going family. In 2008 we went there for Christmas Eve service and after experiencing the friendly pastor and members, we started going every week and love it! I have four children ages 4-10, and they are welcome with loving arms every week. The Journey Church is an open family friendly church that is perfect for everyone who is in need for true relationships with both God and fellow minded people.

  • A Bible-teaching; bible-preaching service with a contemporary touch. The people are friendly but not pushy. A real Christ-centered church where Christ is truly the center-- not the style of music, not the church politics, not the translation, not the dress, and not what you did Saturday night. Come to worship the Lord. Stay to worship the Lord but meet great, caring fellow worshippers along The Journey.

  • Tom is one of the most selfless and giving men I have ever met. He's one of the few church leaders I know in the Tri-Cities, TN area that understands the value of making yourself available to the community in more ways than the standard "my office door is always open" line.

In fact, if you want to meet Tom and find out what makes The Journey so special, stop by Starbucks in Johnson City, TN. He hangs out there frequently building relationships with new people and meeting with members of his church.

Chat with him. You'll be glad you did.

  • I love the Church Journey Church and its staff because Sunday morning set up is super welcoming and gets you excited to worship and see how God is going to speak to you today.

I truly enjoy getting to know everyone and worshiping with our band that likes to do a little bit of everything. There is variety of contemporary songs and we also work in some classics.

The Journey Church is my home church, filled with down to earth people who are willing to serve the Lord in a mighty way by reaching out and working with other churches and communities!
